Our client is a fast-growing startup operating in the iGaming space, focused on building scalable and engaging digital products. Their team is currently transitioning from a lean structure to a more robust internal engineering organization, offering a unique opportunity to shape both the technical direction and the team itself.

Working closely with the CTO and Product team, you’ll join at a pivotal moment where foundational decisions, architecture improvements, and team growth will define the company’s future.

What you'll do:

• Take ownership of the technical direction and contribute actively to architectural decisions
• Lead the development of a scalable, high-performance platform in a hybrid architecture environment
• Balance hands-on coding with technical leadership (no rigid split — varies by phase)
• Build and mentor a growing internal engineering team
• Collaborate closely with Product and leadership to align technical solutions with business goals
• Improve system reliability by introducing best practices in testing, performance, and scalability
• Address current technical challenges such as lack of automated testing and load testing
• Contribute to the evolution of engineering processes, standards, and team culture

What we're looking for:

• 10+ years of total experience in software development
• 3+ years in a leadership or senior technical role
• Strong expertise in Node.js and React.js
• Solid experience with real-time systems (e.g. WebSockets)
• Proven experience working in startup environments or fast-paced teams
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
• Strong collaboration skills — comfortable working in a non-authoritarian, collaborative decision-making environment
• Experience in iGaming or similar high-traffic platforms is strongly preferred (but not mandatory)
• Understanding of scalable systems and performance optimization
