In cooperation with one of our clients, a leading provider of open banking and open finance solutions we are seeking an ambitious midlevel Java Developer to join the Open Banking Development Team. They specialize in secure and efficient financial data aggregation and payment services, offering a platform that enables businesses to access and analyze account data, initiate payments on behalf of customers, and support financial institutions with a fully compliant banking interface. We are looking for a Mid Java Developer who is an analytical thinker and enthusiastic about writing quality code and achieving high test coverage with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative attitude. Your work will help make banking programmable, secure, reliable, and user-friendly.

Besides this, your activities will include:

⏩ Enhance our advanced Banking API by developing new features that drive innovation in the financial services sector.

⏩ Development of backend functionality to support user stories.

⏩ Writing and maintaining unit tests and optionally integration tests to ensure code reliability.

⏩ Regularly conducting code reviews to uphold code quality and best practices.

⏩ Ensuring the availability and functionality of backend services.

⏩ Taking responsibility for our monitoring & alerting stack to maintain service reliability.

⏩ Expand integrations with modern European bank APIs to improve coverage, performance, and security for a diverse range of customers.

⏩ Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Customer Support, and other teams to deliver exceptional value and outstanding user experiences.

You shall bring:

✅ Experience or strong motivation to work with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate

✅ Experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Docker

✅ Solid understanding of REST services and tools like IntelliJ, JUnit

✅ Passion for writing clean, quality code with a focus on test coverage and performance

✅ Willingness to learn and pragmatic problem-solving skills

✅ Fluent in English

Nice to have:

✅ Previous experience in the financial services sector, ideally with PSD2 (XS2A) or FinTS/HBCI

✅ Experience with Kubernetes, Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins

✅ Familiarity of OpenAPI, Liquibase, and AWS Cloud Services

✅ Comfortable with collaboration Tools like JIRA and Confluence

✅ Monitoring & Alerting, any tooling

✅ Any knowledge in AWS
