Introduction
As a Cloud Engineer within IBM Cloud Engineering team, you will contribute to the design, deployment, and operation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions supporting SAP workloads on IBM Cloud.
In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of SAP’s cloud infrastructure and play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and automation of cloud-based services. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and cloud service management teams to deliver highly available and efficient solutions that support SAP’s global operations.
The position focuses on automation, CI/CD enablement, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud observability, enabling efficient and reliable deployments across IBM Cloud environments while supporting hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will join one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers, contributing to the deployment, automation, and operation of SAP workloads running on IBM Cloud. You will be part of an international team, working closely with development, operations, and architecture colleagues to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions.
In this role, you will work in an enterprise environment where you can deepen your experience with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud operations. You will have the opportunity to further develop your technical skills through hands-on work, collaboration with experienced colleagues, and access to learning resources and certifications, while contributing to meaningful, real-world projects.

You Will
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to support cloud deployments
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Support the deployment and operation of SAP workloads in cloud environments
- Monitor system performance and contribute to maintaining reliable and stable services
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues
- Contribute to observability, monitoring, and alerting solutions
- Collaborate with development, operations, and architecture teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge sharing within the team
Master's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (min. 3+ years)
- Experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions or similar tools)
- Good working knowledge of Linux environments
- Experience with scripting (Python or Bash) to support automation and operations
- Experience working in production environments
- Understanding of identity and access management concepts (IAM, federation)
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in an international environment
- Availability to work in a hybrid setup, with approximately 1 day per week on-site presence
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (working level)
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPN, proxies)
- Knowledge of cloud security practices (IAM, secrets, compliance)
- SAP knowledge or exposure to SAP workloads
- German language skills are considered an advantage
