We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organization in the natural resources and manufacturing industry that is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join its dynamic IT team. This role is critical to maintaining, optimizing, and securing a complex enterprise network environment.


The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in network administration, hands-on experience across modern networking technologies, and a passion for staying current with industry best practices. This role can be based in Quesnel, BC or Vancouver, BC.

As a key member of the IT team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, reliability, performance, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.


What You’ll Do

Network & Infrastructure

  • Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, SD‑WAN)
  • Design and optimize network topology for performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and maintain high availability
  • Define and maintain network standards

Wireless & Connectivity

  • Manage and optimize WiFi infrastructure
  • Perform site surveys and improve wireless coverage and performance

Security & Remote Access

  • Configure and manage next‑generation firewalls
  • Implement Zero Trust and secure remote access solutions
  • Support secure connectivity for remote users

Traffic, Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Manage load balancers and traffic policies
  • Monitor network health and performance
  • Own patching, audits, and ongoing network improvements

Documentation & Process

  • Maintain clear network documentation and diagrams
  • Help improve network policies and operational processes


What You Bring

  • Diploma or degree in IT, Network Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of enterprise network administration experience
  • Strong hands‑on SD‑WAN experience
  • Solid understanding of core networking (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.)
  • Experience with wired, wireless, and physical network technologies
  • Hands‑on experience with network security (firewalls, IPS/IDS, WAF, SASE)
  • Experience with wireless networking best practices
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills


Nice to Have

  • Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler, Cisco, or Aruba
  • Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Network automation or scripting (Python, Ansible)
  • Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, NSE, PCNSE)
  • Experience with network virtualization
