Job Description


As a Senior Software Engineer you will get a challenging opportunity to build and enhance Samsung’s Interactive Ads Format platform that serves as the base platform for our Interactive Ad Units driving User engagement and Customer satisfaction.


You will contribute to design, architecture, implementation, release, test and maintenance of the platform, and the interactive ad units built on top of the platform. This role is 100% hands-on development and focuses on software architecture and engineering best practices. You will work with experienced, passionate programmers as part of the full-stack team within a broader engineering organization with a strong technical culture. You will opportunities to contribute to open source, conduct research and development, review code, and share knowledge across the board.

Role and Responsibilities:


As a member of the team, you will be expected to:


  • As a full stack engineer write efficient, clean, readable, fast, and testable code that span across all the components of ad experiences stack written in different languages.
  • Quickly prototyping and developing consumer-facing services that will interact with millions of devices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams (Product Managers, UX designers) and other Software Engineers to deliver a compelling, easy-to-use Interactive Ad Product for the end consumers.
  • Collaborate with peers and leaders across various Samsung Ad sites, driving cross-site efforts to improve platform capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas to peers and geographically distributed teams.
  • Contributing towards building a system with a test-driven development /Agile approach.
  • Drive quality by reviewing code by peers and spreading your expertise to the team, emphasizing unit testing.
  • Work with geographically distributed teams.
  • Work on Technical Proposals to improve the software design and architecture.


Technology Stack

Technology stack includes a mixture of Javascript/Typescript, React, Ruby, GraphQL, Go, Java, Postgres, Kafka, AWS, HTML, CSS, Github, AI assisted coding, Tizen Studio, Linux, Docker and Kubernetes.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Typically requires minimum 6-8 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3+ years of experience
  • At least 6+ years of proven experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer, preferably in Ad Tech or a related industry in CTV environment.
  • Have a solid foundation in computer science and data structures, algorithms
  • Experience building Javascript framework and libraries for consumer facing devices with low memory footprints focusing on application performance.
  • Experience building highly optimized server-side components in golang.
  • Ability to deal with unknowns of the system, languages and deliver the results on time.
  • Strong architectural and design skills.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and front-end build tools (e.g., webpack, npm.).
  • Experience with performance optimization, responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Passion for building reliable "done right the first time" web applications.
  • A self-directed team player.


Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Mountain View, CA is expected to be between $175,000 ~ $205,000 base. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
