The Purpose

This Senior Full Stack Developer role exists to drive the development of AI-powered features that enhance patient and provider experiences, directly impacting healthcare outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and scale web applications using PostgreSQL, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
  • Create dynamic, responsive user interfaces using React.js to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Design and implement AI workflows using OpenAI to process documents and extract structured information.
  • Build and manage AI powered automations using platforms such as Zapier, n8n, or similar tools.
  • Design, develop, and maintain end to end AI workflows integrated into production systems.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and reliability across the stack.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across frontend, backend, and AI workflows.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 7 years of professional experience working with the MERN stack or similar JavaScript based technologies.
  • Strong experience building APIs and modern interactive web applications.
  • 2+ years of hands on experience building AI workflows and working with prompt engineering.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Well-versed in testing methodologies and libraries, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Direct experience developing AI-driven features leveraging modern large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI or Anthropic, and techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams and communicating clearly in English.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and managing message queue technologies.
  • Skilled in containerization tools like Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, and implementing CI/CD workflows.
  • Development involvement with Maple's digital health platform, including components such as the patient-facing web application, provider and admin dashboards, AI-enhanced clinical workflows, and API integrations.
  • Background in integrating electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare interoperability protocols (for example, HL7 and FHIR) within regulated healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and performance analysis tools such as OpenTelemetry and Prometheus/Grafana to ensure high availability in healthcare systems.
