Lead DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Lead will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading DevOps practices across multiple applications and platforms. This role focuses on CI/CD automation, release management, operational stability, and security, while mentoring DevOps engineers and collaborating closely with development, QA, and product teams. Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) is a good to have.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Automation

• Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or Azure DevOps
• Drive build, test, and deployment automation across multiple environments
• Implement automated testing workflows (unit, integration, regression, smoke tests)

Environment & Release Management

• Manage multi‑environment setups (Dev, QA, UAT, Staging, Production)
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee releases, hotfixes, and rollback strategies
• Ensure environment stability, configuration management, and version control best practices

Monitoring & Operational Excellence

• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system reliability and performance
• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, failures, and risks
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and long‑term corrective actions

Security & Compliance

• Enforce DevOps security best practices across pipelines, repositories, and environments
• Manage secrets, credentials, access control, and secure configuration
• Ensure compliance with organizational and industry security standards

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor DevOps engineers; provide technical guidance and reviews
• Collaborate with Development, QA, Product, and Cloud/Infra teams
• Drive DevOps standards, documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
• Support production releases and critical incidents as needed

Continuous Improvement

• Continuously improve deployment speed, reliability, and quality
• Evaluate and introduce new DevOps tools, automation, and best practices
• Champion DevOps culture, CI/CD maturity, and operational excellence

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of overall DevOps experience, with prior leadership or ownership responsibilities
• Strong hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
• Solid expertise in Git, branching strategies, and release workflows
• Hands‑on experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Shell, Python, Node.js, etc.)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and incident management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities

Good to Have Skills

• Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC / B2C Commerce)
• Knowledge of ecommerce platforms and integrations (Payments, OMS, ERP, CDNs)
• Exposure to DevSecOps, vulnerability scanning, and code quality tools
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or container‑based architectures
• SFCC or cloud certifications

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
