Reliability and Systems Software Engineer
As a Software Systems Engineer, you will join the Reliability/ Availability/ Maintainability/ Safety Engineering (RAMS-E) team, consisting of skilled professionals dedicated to supporting several Business Units in creating safe, reliable, and compliant medical devices.
The RAMS team, part of the Quality and Reliability department within Innovation and Strategy, collaborates across business units to develop both hardware and software solutions. Our focus includes hands-on support for development, delivering workshops, and providing training on Systems Engineering techniques.
Your Role
In this position, you will design and implement software solutions while integrating Systems Engineering methods like FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Reliability testing. You will also play a key role in mentoring engineers and advocating best practices within the Philips community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review training materials for Software FMEA and Reliability processes.
- Facilitate and co-deliver training sessions for Software Engineers.
- Provide guidance and coaching on Systems Engineering principles for software projects.
- Maintain hands-on experience in software development by actively participating in R&D projects.
- Engage with the global RAMS network and promote quality engineering within R&D teams.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering.
- At least 8 years of experience in software development and design.
- Strong interest in integrating Systems Engineering methodologies into software projects.
- Background in Research & Development, with experience in product and software development processes.
- Familiarity with regulated medical environments is a plus.
- Certifications in Six Sigma or related disciplines are advantageous.
- Excellent communication and training skills; able to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to travel up to 20% for onsite support and training delivery.
- Preferably living in The Netherlands
