How we build software at Laerdal

You’ll work in cross functional product teams where engineers have a real voice in both product direction and technical decisions. We prioritize solid engineering practices enabling teams to ship with confidence, maintain high quality, and continuously improve.

With three inspiring, cutting egde tech-projects underway, Laerdal offers a range of opportunities where you can bring your strengths to life and help create solutions that truly matter:


Team #1: RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement)

Elevate CPR performance through real-time measurement, feedback, and continuous learning at scale. Work on software connecting devices, learning flows, and analytics used globally by clinical staff.

Locations: Stavanger, Norway or Copenhagen, Denmark


Team #2: Sim to Improve

Sim to Improve combines simulation, quality improvement methodology, and AI-driven insight to help hospitals uncover workflow challenges, test planned changes and implement safer systems of care.

You will help shape the platform’s architecture, performance, user experience, and scalability.

Location: Stavanger, Norway


Team #3: Simulated Instruments

Simulated Instruments develops the software behind realistic, instrument-like experiences used in medical training and simulation. You will build digital components that interact with physical devices, provide responsive realtime feedback, and integrate with larger simulation systems.

Location: Stavanger, Norway


What you’ll do

  • Create, build and evolve software from idea to production i
  • Make an impact on Laerdal’s architecture and design
  • Practice engineering hygiene: testing, code reviews, documentation, CI/CD
  • Contribute to improve quality, performance, and developer experience


Who you are

Curious and pragmatic. You value sustainable solutions over quick fixes, share knowledge freely, and contribute to an inclusive and highly skilled engineering environment.


Core profile (standardized across teams, ~70–80%)

  • Professional software development experience (5+ years)
  • Enthusiastic about modern development principles
  • Love to deliver production codes
  • Enjoy collaborating
  • Conscientious mindset to sustainability, risk and safety
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)


Technologies you may work with

  • Backend: C# / .NET
  • Cloud: Azure (security, observability, operations)
  • Frontend: React
  • Mobile: React Native
  • APIs, integrations, databases, distributed systems
