Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for e-commerce and payments? As a Senior Software Engineer at our fast-growing startup, you'll work on complex, meaningful challenges that directly shape the foundation of our platform.

This role goes beyond implementation. Our engineers take true end-to-end ownership, from designing and building systems to making key technical decisions and influencing product direction. You'll be deeply embedded in the business, contributing to strategy and helping define how we scale in a rapidly evolving space.

What you'll be responsible for

• Deliver production features across the stack: backend (Python + Flask/FastAPI) and frontend (React/React Native), running on our serverless infrastructure in GCP.
• Prototype, iterate, and optimise features quickly based on real user feedback and metrics.
• Own problems end-to-end: design docs, tests, code reviews, deployment, and post-release monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with product & design to ship and iterate quickly.
• Contribute to system design and architecture discussions, balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
• Maintain a high engineering bar across code quality, testing, monitoring, and mentorship of other engineers.
• Harness AI coding assistants to speed up development, testing, and debugging.
• Bring fresh ideas to product and commercial strategy. Every engineer here has a seat at the table.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building and shipping production systems across the stack.
• Solid grounding in algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
• Proven track record of owning and delivering complex projects end-to-end.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product and design.
• Strong Git and code review practices.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with our tech stack: Python, Flask/FastAPI, TypeScript, React/React Native, MySQL, GCP.
• Strong SQL skills with attention to query performance.
• Experience working with e-commerce or payments platforms (e.g. Shopify, Stripe, PayPal).
• Comfort using AI development tools to improve productivity.
