L2 Network Engineer: LAN, WAN & WLAN


Location: Brunsbuttel, Germany (Full-time onsite)

Webmentix GmbH is seeking an L2 Network Engineer with 5-8 years of experience for hands-on troubleshooting and support of enterprise LAN (DC & Ent), WAN, and WLAN environments for a global client (SASOL - confidential). 1 position available.


As an L2 Network Engineer, you will provide 24x7 NOC support, handle L1/L2 incident/change tickets, perform device upgrades, and collaborate with vendors in a distributed DC/LAN/WAN/WLAN setup.


Key Responsibilities


  • Troubleshooting & Support: Hands-on resolution of enterprise LAN (DC/Ent), WAN, WLAN issues; 24x7 NOC support for global distributed networks; L1/L2 incident/change management ticket resolution.
  • Network Upgrades & Planning: Plan and execute upgrades for network devices; remote management and monitoring of operations.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work with HW/SF vendors to resolve problems.


Required Skills and Experience


Primary Skills:


  • Hands-on troubleshooting in Enterprise LAN (DC & Ent), WAN, WLAN environments
  • Server Load Balancers (F5/Citrix/Cisco)
  • SD-WAN (Viptela/Silverpeak/VeloCloud/Meraki)
  • Aruba/Cisco/Meraki Wireless
  • MPLS, DMVPN, QoS; DHCP, DNS, IPAM
  • IPsec, VPNs, GRE, NAT/PAT across platforms
  • Routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, ISIS)
  • Switching (VLAN, Trunking, Dot1x, STP variants, HSRP/VRRP, VTP)
  • Cisco certifications (Mandatory)


Secondary Skills:


  • Fortinet SD-WAN (Good to have)


Experience Requirements:


  • 5-8 years in network engineering with Cisco/SD-WAN/DHCP exposure
  • Proven 24x7 NOC support in large global DC/LAN/WAN/WLAN environments
  • Experience with incident/change management and vendor coordination
  • English fluency (German added advantage: B1/B2 preferred)
  • Strong team player for onsite collaboration


Qualification:


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Mandatory).


Eligibility & Work Model:


  • Full-time onsite in Brunsbuttel, Germany
  • Candidates must have the right to work in Germany/EU
  • Immediate availability preferred
  • Project duration: 6 months (TP hiring mode)
