Software Developer

At Verra Mobility we provide technology-enabled solutions that help the world move safely and easily.

We are growing quickly in Europe, and we are currently hiring a SW Developer to work with a multi-disciplinary team of software developers, subject matter experts and solutions architects to deliver cloud-based mobility solutions for our customers.

If you enjoy contributing with a team of diverse engineers spread across multiple locations and have 5+ years of experience in PHP Symfony and AWS, this is the job you are looking for.

Required:

• 5+ years experience with PHP Symfony and solid AWS/cloud experience.
• Create high- and low-level design documents and actively participate in code reviews.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Deliver high-quality solutions on-time and on-budget while following internal policies.
• Provide technical support, test and deploy systems, and fix and improve existing software.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, database design, and high-performance query skills required.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science (or related) and English C1; motivated and eager to learn.
• Preferred: experience with Go, React, C#, CI/CD, containers, test automation, and Spanish B2.

What you'll do:

• Develop high-level and low-level design document to be used by team members for development.
• Actively participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards are enforced and adequate code coverage is maintained.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments.
• Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
• Provide technical support to ensure that all functionality is properly designed, developed, tested, and delivered as per the requirements.
• Testing and deploying programs and systems.
• Fixing and improving existing software.
• Ensure internal company policies are followed on-time and accurately.

What we’re looking for:

• English: C1
• Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in PHP Symfony backend and frontend: writing well-designed, high-quality code.
• Eager to learn and face new challenges.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering principles (programming patterns, standard algorithms, data structures, multiprocessing).
• Database design skills and experience in writing high performance database queries.
• Proven experience in setting up and operating in scaled and distributed environments.

We'd be particularly excited if you have:

• Experience in AWS and cloud technologies: microservices, test automation tools, CI pipelines, Cloud, and containerization technologies.
• Hands on knowledge of GoLang, React or C#.
• Good communication skills. Used to interact with client and application end-users.
• Spanish: B2 or upper.
