IT Area Lead – Digital Banking

We are seeking a “Digital Banking IT Area Lead” to join our Technology Group, reporting directly to the Retail IT Lead. You will lead the technical teams responsible for our ING Mobile App and ING Web Banking, ensuring these platforms meet the evolving needs of our retail customers. This position requires close collaboration with business tribes to align on strategic goals and build a robust technical roadmap for our digital banking systems.

If you think you have most of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering or IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years of leading IT managers and technical teams in an agile, digital-first environment.
• Strong background in mobile and web-based banking technologies, with proven experience delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives.Expertise in building and executing technical strategies that align with business goals, particularly in the digital banking space.
• Demonstrated ability to lead leaders, develop high-performing teams, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
• Proficiency in stakeholder management at senior levels, with a track record of working with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and execution skills with the ability to prioritize and manage complex projects under tight deadlines.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

If you think you may take charge of the following responsibilities:

• Lead the technology teams responsible for our mobile banking app (iOS, Android, Back-End) and banking website, overseeing end-to-end delivery and ensuring these platforms remain cutting-edge, secure, and customer-centric.
• Collaborate closely with business tribe leads to ensure that IT solutions support broader business goals, helping to shape and deliver the digital banking strategy.
• Build and execute a clear, actionable technical roadmap for both mobile and web banking platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and innovation.
• Drive engineering excellence across the teams by implementing best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring high-quality software development and operations.
• Own the technology budget for the digital banking area, making data-driven decisions on resource allocation, ROI, and cost-efficiency.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners, ensuring their solutions integrate seamlessly with our digital banking platforms.
• Champion the Agile way of working, continuously refining processes to drive faster delivery and greater alignment between technical teams and business objectives.
