Product Manager

Capital Executive Search are partnering with a high-growth sovereign AI infrastructure business here in Sydney that’s building a next-generation Platform-as-a-Service offering on top of GPU compute.

Our client is looking for a Product Manager to take full ownership of the PaaS platform — defining the roadmap, driving delivery across distributed engineering and infrastructure teams, and ultimately owning how the platform scales commercially and technically. It’s a highly visible role reporting directly to the CTO, with real influence over strategy, not just execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Roadmap Definition & Strategic Planning

• Develop and maintain a structured, outcome-driven product roadmap aligned to the companies sovereign AI strategy, commercial priorities and infrastructure capacity.
• Translate strategic objectives, customer requirements and technical constraints into clearly sequenced feature releases and platform enhancements.
• Define realistic delivery timelines based on engineering capacity, infrastructure dependencies and vendor inputs.

Delivery Governance & Release Management

• Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for new features, platform enhancements and defect remediation.
• Establish disciplined release management processes to ensure stable, predictable and production-ready deployments.

Prioritisation & Cross-Functional Alignment

• Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Infrastructure, Engineering and Leadership to gather, evaluate and prioritise feature requests and defect remediation.
• Balance competing commercial, technical and operational demands using clear prioritisation frameworks.

Distributed Technical Team Coordination

• Coordinate engineering and infrastructure teams operating across multiple physical locations and environments.
• Establish structured cadence (stand-ups, sprint reviews, roadmap reviews) to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.

Vendor & Sub-Product Management

• Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers that provide core sub-components of the PaaS stack (e.g., orchestration layers, observability tools, security integrations).
• Evaluate vendor performance, roadmap alignment and contractual obligations.
• Ensure third-party dependencies do not introduce delivery risk or architectural misalignment.

Real-Time Product Reporting & Transparency

• Provide structured, real-time visibility into product delivery status, risks and milestone tracking.
• Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms that clearly communicate progress to executive leadership and operational teams.
• Surface risks early and propose mitigation strategies before delivery impact occurs.

Internal Product Advocacy & Adoption

• Champion internal use of the companies PaaS offerings across Engineering, Operations and Support teams.
• Drive internal dogfooding initiatives to ensure the platform is robust, intuitive and operationally mature.
• Ensure the products supplied to customers reflect the same standards of reliability, usability and sovereignty required internally

Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience in Product Management or Technical Product roles within cloud, infrastructure, AI/ML, HPC or enterprise technology environments, with ownership of complex platforms.
• Demonstrated experience defining and executing multi-quarter product roadmaps in technically constrained, infrastructure-heavy environments.
• Strong experience working directly with engineering and infrastructure teams, with the ability to understand architectural trade-offs and delivery sequencing.
• Proven capability managing cross-functional delivery across distributed teams, including structured release management and production readiness.
• Experience operating in security-sensitive or regulated environments (enterprise or government), ideally with exposure to cloud-native platforms.
