Consultant – Software Lifecycle Management & Packaging (m/f/d) | Public Sector IT | Remote | Contract
Our client is a well-established IT services provider supporting large-scale enterprise and public sector environments. They are seeking an experienced Consultant in Software Lifecycle Management & Packaging to support the coordination, governance, and optimisation of software delivery processes within a complex IT landscape.

Location: Remote (80%) / Bonn (20%)
Responsibilities:
- Support the administrative and operational management of the end-to-end software lifecycle.
- Coordinate software requests, updates, and deployments across internal delivery units.
- Maintain and manage data within lifecycle and ticketing systems (e.g. Jira, Maximo).
- Track project progress, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely delivery of software services.
- Prepare status reports, performance analyses, and stakeholder updates.
- Identify inefficiencies, risks, and gaps in processes, and escalate where necessary.
- Support IT service operations including incident, change, and problem management.
- Create knowledge articles and troubleshooting documentation for service teams.
- Monitor service performance against SLAs/OLAs and support continuous service improvement.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, service teams, and architecture functions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Software Lifecycle Management, IT Service Management, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Release Management).
- Hands-on experience with ticketing and workflow tools such as Jira or comparable systems.
- Experience working in large enterprise or public sector IT environments.
- Ability to manage and track multiple workstreams with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in reporting, documentation, and process optimisation.
- Fluent German (C1) and good English (B1).
- ITIL Foundation certification (or equivalent).
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable qualification (or equivalent experience).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with software packaging and deployment in centrally managed environments.
- Familiarity with tools such as Maximo or similar enterprise systems.
- Experience supporting large-scale IT operations or transformation programmes.
