What You’ll Be Doing

As a Frontend Engineer , you are both builder and guide. You take ownership of Nebul’s frontend applications while helping set technical direction and best practices for a small product-focused team.

You design and build modern, high-quality frontend applications that interact with complex cloud and platform APIs. Your work turns powerful backend capabilities into intuitive, secure, and reliable user experiences for engineers, operators, and customers.

You work closely with backend, platform, security, and product teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear workflows and interfaces. While you help review designs and code and guide frontend decisions, you remain hands-on and write production code every day.

This role is for someone who leads by doing: you build real features, make thoughtful trade-offs, and help others grow by working alongside them.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain frontend applications for Nebul’s cloud platform.
• Take the lead on frontend architecture, tooling, and development standards.
• Translate complex backend and platform concepts into intuitive user interfaces and workflows.
• Collaborate closely with backend and platform engineers on API design and integration.
• Build secure, role-aware user interfaces that support multi-tenant environments.
• Ensure frontend applications are performant, accessible, and production-ready.
• Actively review code, support teammates, and uphold high engineering standards.
• Coordinate day-to-day frontend work and help set priorities with product and design.
• Continuously improve the frontend stack while managing technical debt responsibly.

What Your Day Will Not Look Like

• Pure people management without hands-on development.
• Pixel-only design work without technical ownership.
• Working on isolated UI components without understanding the platform.
• Building throwaway prototypes without long-term responsibility.

What You Bring

• Strong hands-on experience building modern frontend applications (e.g. with React, Vue, or similar).
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and API-driven UIs.
• Experience working with complex, data-heavy, or technical products.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and guide small teams technically.
• Comfort working with authentication, authorization, and role-based UI logic.
• A pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset: you see what needs to be built and you build it.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience building dashboards or UIs for developer tools, cloud platforms, or SaaS products.
• Familiarity with design systems and frontend component libraries.
• Experience improving performance, accessibility, and frontend reliability.
• Hands-on mentoring experience with junior or medior engineers.
• Interest in security, privacy, and building trustworthy interfaces.

• Have a valid work permit for the Netherlands.
• Reside in the Netherlands and be able to travel to the office near The Hague.
• Be fluent in English (Dutch is not required).
