Job Description

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing models aligned with the bank’s strategic goals, including credit and market risk assessment and customer acquisition strategies.

Depending on your level of experience, you will either take a leadership role or contribute to data-driven projects, collaborating with senior data scientists and cross-functional teams to develop predictive models and provide actionable insights that support business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement predictive models in credit (application, behavioral, IFRS9, etc.) and market risk, customer acquisition, and retention (for senior candidates will lead the development and validation of these models).
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define Project goals and deliver data-driven solutions (for senior candidates, take ownership of complex projects and mentor junior team members).
• Use tools like Python, R, SAS to analyze data and build models (for junior candidates, assist in data preparation, model testing and reporting).
• Evaluate model performance and adjust methodologies as needed.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations and communicate results effectively to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• For Junior Candidates: 1-3 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or related fields.
• For Senior Candidates: 5+ years of experience, preferably with in the banking or financial sector.
• University degree in quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SAS with proven experience in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and model development.
• Knowledge of credit and market risk modeling, as well as customer acquisition and retention strategies (senior candidates should have extensive experience in at least one of these areas).
• Familiarity with the banking sector, including retail and commercial banking products and services.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in diverse and cross-functional environment.
• Effectively written and verbal communication skills in both Turkish and English.
