Software Engineer

We are looking for:

We are looking for a Polyglot Developer (Backend + notion of Frontend) to help analyses and modernize legacy custom dev applications for deployment in a cloud-native environment. You will work closely with cloud architects and DevOps teams.

What you will do:

• Read and analyze existing code to identify the things to be updated and fixed.
• Being able to properly start the application locally within an IDE to become efficient in troubleshooting.
• Identify dependencies, legacy patterns, and potential migration blockers.
• Being able to fix SAST critical issues.
• Update application to be linked to a Single Sign On solution (OAUTH2/OIDC, SAMLv2), whether it is custom dev or vendor solution (Commercial off the shelf).
• Update backend dependencies to under support version.
• Refactor applications to support containerization and CI/CD pipelines (producing dockerfile).
• Collaborate with cloud and security architects to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Produce clear documentation, including application overviews, architecture diagrams, and migration plans.
• Deal with SQL issue for applications that need a database upgrade/switch to another database vendor.
• Setup observability and capability that will accelerate troubleshooting and application lifecycle management.

What you need to have:

• Back-end / Front-end: Notion or interest in learning for PHP, Java, .Net, Node, Python, Javascript (at least one programming language should be mastered and another known)
• CI/CD: Git, GitLab CI
• Tooling: SonarQube, SAST, DAST, Intellij or VScode
• Cloud: Notions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Tanzu
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), Oauth2 OIDC, SAMLv2
• Methodologies: Agile / Kanban
• At least 5 years of experience in one backend programming language, 2+ on another one
• Autonomous and comfortable working with modernizing legacy code and learning new things
• Interest in cloud-native principles and containerization
• Willingness to grow in infrastructure, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
• Collaborative, structured, and adaptable – essential qualities in a complex enterprise environment.
