About the Job
We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer Process Development to join Piaxo’s automotive engineering organization. In this role, you will define, integrate, and mature cybersecurity engineering processes across the entire product development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that cybersecurity methods, workflows, and work products are fully embedded into engineering practices and aligned with automotive standards such as ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE.
This position supports multiple automotive domains, including embedded control units, energy storage systems, power distribution, and intelligent vehicle functions. It is a key role for establishing a strong cybersecurity culture and driving continuous improvement in engineering excellence.

Headquartered in Romania, with offices in Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara and an international presence in Munich, Germany, Piaxo is expanding its Timișoara site into a permanent office with an automotive laboratory. The location is planned to scale to 120+ engineers and technical experts, delivering complete product development across all competencies in line with ASPICE 4.0, as part of a long-term, well-defined program developed with a major Tier-1 customer, offering stability, technical depth, and long-term career continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Integration
- Define, mature, and maintain the Cybersecurity Management System aligned with global regulations and industry standards.
- Develop cybersecurity engineering processes based on ISO/SAE 21434 across the full V-model lifecycle.
- Integrate cybersecurity activities into ASPICE base practices, ensuring consistency with system, software, and hardware development processes.
- Align cybersecurity lifecycle activities with Functional Safety (ISO 26262), including hazard analysis and safety-related work products.
Methods & Work Product Management
- Define and maintain standardized methods for:
- Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA)
- Cybersecurity Goals, Concepts, and Requirements
- Cybersecurity Verification and Validation
- Cybersecurity Case Documentation
- Maintain templates, guidelines, work instructions, and checklists to ensure audit-ready work products.
Tooling & Workflow Integration
- Implement and administer engineering tools supporting cybersecurity activities (TARA tools, requirements management, verification tools, fuzz testing frameworks, etc.).
- Embed process workflows into engineering toolchains to ensure traceability and consistency across disciplines.
Training & Enablement
- Develop and deliver training materials on cybersecurity processes, methods, tools, and standards.
- Mentor engineering teams and promote proper process implementation across projects.
- Establish baseline cybersecurity process deployment for development programs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Define and maintain process interfaces between cybersecurity and adjacent domains (systems, software, hardware, project management, manufacturing, quality assurance).
- Support cross-functional reviews and decision-making processes involving cybersecurity topics.
Governance & Compliance
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks for cybersecurity engineering.
- Conduct or support process assessments and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Support regulatory certification and compliance activities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on assessments, lessons learned, and industry practices.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, new regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to automotive cybersecurity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive engineering, including hands-on development and process-focused responsibilities.
- Proven experience defining and deploying engineering processes in regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE and how these standards interface.
- Familiarity with MBSE concepts and engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama) for requirements and model management.
- Experience with process documentation and management platforms (e.g., UL Stages).
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
- Experience mentoring or training engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with configuration management and change control workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with battery systems, power distribution units, or embedded automotive control units.
- Experience in OEM or Tier-1 automotive development programs.
- Exposure to cybersecurity testing methods or security-related verification frameworks.
