API Developer (Python-Based Crypto Exchange Project)

Our Python-based Centralized Exchange (CEX) forms the backbone of our platform, and we are seeking a talented API Developer to enhance its capabilities by developing robust, scalable, and secure APIs that power our trading, wallet, and data services.

Position Overview

As an API Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs that integrate seamlessly with our Python-based CEX platform. Your work will directly impact our trading platform’s performance, usability, and security, enabling seamless interaction between the backend systems, front-end interfaces, and third-party integrations.

Key Responsibilities

API Development and Maintenance:

• Design, develop, and deploy high-performance RESTful and WebSocket APIs for the cryptocurrency exchange platform.
• Create APIs for real-time trading, wallet services, user authentication, and account management.
• Implement robust rate-limiting, data caching, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure reliability and security.

System Integration:

• Collaborate with the backend team to integrate APIs with Python-based backend services, including blockchain nodes and third-party providers.
• Work closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless consumption of APIs for web and mobile applications.

Performance Optimization:

• Analyze and optimize API performance to handle high-frequency trading and large volumes of requests.
• Implement scalable architecture to support future growth and traffic demands.

Security Implementation:

• Apply best practices for API security, including encryption, authentication, and token-based access (OAuth2, JWT).
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement updates to safeguard against emerging threats.

Documentation and Testing:

• Create comprehensive API documentation for internal and external use, including usage examples and integration guidelines.
• Develop automated test scripts to validate API functionality, performance, and security.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work with cross-functional teams, including blockchain engineers, DevOps, and QA, to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Provide technical support to external developers integrating with our APIs.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills:

• Programming: Strong expertise in Python, with experience in frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• API Design: Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs and WebSocket services.
• Database Management: Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Security Standards: Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS, and encryption protocols.
• Performance Optimization: Experience in scaling APIs for high concurrency and low latency.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Tools and Protocols: Familiarity with API management tools (Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI) and integration protocols like JSON-RPC or gRPC.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Celery).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency systems.
• Experience working with high-frequency trading platforms or financial systems.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in API development, preferably in fintech or cryptocurrency sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining production-grade APIs.

 RELOCATION TO TIRANA / ALBANIA IS MANDATORY

Fluency in English is required for this role.
