Android Developer

Work Model: Hybrid

Duration: 1 year contract (Extension & Conversion possible based on business needs and performance)

Responsibilities:

Must Have Responsibilities:

• Serve as prime technical contact for experts, project teams, business and vendors

• Work independently as senior/lead developer while coaching team members

• Own accountability for solution design and deliverables

• Provide effort estimates for new projects and initiatives

• Translate business requirements into timely, robust technical solutions

• Lead end-to-end solution creation and System Design Specifications

• Ensure SDLC and PMLC compliance on complex/large-scale projects

• Conduct code reviews for quality, standards, re-usability and maintainability

• Deliver on time, within budget, meeting quality and security standards

• Stay current with cutting-edge technologies

• Provide technical support for escalated incidents/outages

• Contribute to Application Deployment Planning

• Manage multiple concurrent projects with effective prioritization

• Foster positive, innovative, quality-focused team environment

• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions

Experience:

• 7+ years mobile development experience

• 5+ years Kotlin on Android platform

• Proven leadership and native Android development experience

Skillsets:

• Jetpack Compose libraries

• Android Studio, Gradle, Emulator

• Design Patterns: MVC, MVP, MVVM

• Automated Testing: JUnit, Robolectric, Espresso

• Excellent oral and written communication

• Prioritization and multi-tasking in fast-paced environments

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Self-motivated with team-oriented mindset

• Customer-focused approach

Preferred:

• Analytics Tools: Dynatrace, SonarQube, Crashlytics

• Team Leadership & Mentoring experience

• Distributed Team Management (onshore/offshore)

• Financial Services/Banking Industry experience

Education:

• University or College degree in Computer Science or equivalent (asset)
