AI Engineer (client facing)

SF (open to NYC) / $180k-$280k + early stage equity

My client is hiring an AI Engineer to work directly with customers on high-impact AI problems. You will design, build, and deploy production software that drives real business outcomes, working hands-on with customer data and iterating quickly based on real-world feedback with enterprise clients.

This role is well suited to engineers from client-facing environments. My client has seen strong success hiring former data scientists and engineers from firms such as BCG, BCG X, McKinsey & Company, QuantumBlack, Bain & Company, Palantir, and similar applied AI or consulting-led organizations.

What My Client Is Looking For:

• Strong customer focus and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
• Proficiency in Python and or TypeScript in production systems
• Experience deploying data-heavy or AI-enabled applications
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to travel occasionally, typically up to 20 percent

Nice to Have:

• Forward-deployed or customer-facing engineering experience
• Production experience with ML, LLMs, or agentic AI systems
• Frontend experience, ideally React
