The Role

As a Seer Data Analyst, you’ll work directly with purpose-driven organisations across communities, not-for-profits, and philanthropic portfolios to explore, analyse, and interpret data that supports meaningful impact. You’ll help organisations make sense of their data, uncover insights, and strengthen their ability to measure, understand, and communicate outcomes.

In this role, you’ll contribute to a wide range of projects—from place-based, community-led initiatives to impact measurement for small to medium not-for-profits and philanthropic investments. You’ll be responsible for collecting and ingesting open and customer data into the Seer Data platform, analysing datasets, identifying trends, and translating findings into clear, actionable insights.

You’ll bring strong analytical skills, curiosity, and a passion for working with data to support real-world change. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll help build evidence bases, strengthen evaluation approaches, and deliver high-quality, impactful data projects that reflect our values and commitments.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be located in Sydney and able to work from our CBD office in a hybrid model.

Your Responsibilities

• Engineer and ingest both Open and Private datasets into the Seer Data Platform using Python, optimizing ETL pipelines for enhanced data accessibility, integrity, and scalability.
• Design and develop customized, end-to-end data products and analytics solutions using advanced data modeling techniques, tailored to meet specific customer needs and platform requirements.
• Build and maintain relational databases, advanced spreadsheets, and integrated project management software to streamline data management workflows, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple teams.
• Develop extensible data schema templates in alignment with Seer Data’s standards, enabling automated data ingestion and validation processes for customers.
• Conduct in-depth research to identify, source, and integrate relevant data sources and frameworks, collaborating with data custodians to ensure compliance with industry standards and enhance data accuracy.
• Architect data frameworks and collection methodologies for impact measurement, leveraging advanced data analysis and visualization techniques to deliver actionable insights for Seer Data and its clients.
• Lead initiatives to build customer data literacy and technical proficiency, developing and delivering technical training programs that empower clients to independently manage and analyze data using the Seer Data platform.
• Creating data storytelling suitcases, insights and dashboards for customers using Open and Private Data on the Seer Data platform, made up of tables, charts, summary observations and commentary and multi-media content where applicable.
• Keeping up to date with the data collections on Seer Data and seek to understand and improve the data contained.
• Building the data capability and data literacy of our customers so that they can do data themselves with the Seer Data platform and products.
• Contributing to the development and delivery of training courses and modules for the Seer Learning Lab and customers.
• Staying informed about industry trends, data analysis and visualisation techniques, and best practices.
• Complete and maintain all required Seer Data prescribed training modules/courses.

Your Qualifications

A university qualification in a data-related field and working capability in python is essential.
