R&D - Regulatory and Nutrition specialist

We are currently recruiting for a highly qualified Regulatory and Nutrition Specialist based in Ireland!

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance of ingredients, formulas, claims and labelling for several beverage brands within TBG’s portfolio, playing a pivotal role in the innovation and launch process. Sitting within the R&D function, you will have the opportunity to interact cross-functionally, providing subject matter expert knowledge throughout the organisation, with interactions including (but not limited to): product development, marketing, purchasing, and legal.

Your Next Pour: The Opportunity:

Legal Labelling Information:

• Create robust and accurate legal labelling information for all Tropicana branded products across various European markets.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to food labelling.

Product Marketing Copy Validation:

• Review and validate product marketing copy to ensure legal compliance.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to align messaging with regulatory requirements.

Artwork Approvals:

• Management of approval process for product artwork using our artwork approval tool and other offline systems.
• Ensure that all relevant checks are completed accurately.
• Approve product artwork against legal labelling and marketing copy briefs.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy in branding across all packaging materials.

Competitor Benchmarking:

• Conduct competitor benchmarking to guide New Product Development (NPD) and marketing efforts.
• Provide insights on claims and nutrition composition based on competitor analysis.

Additional Tasks according to business needs:

• Support with reviewing and approving ingredients/recipes/labels in the product Life cycle management system.
• Support the Regulatory Affairs and Nutrition Science Manager with other tasks as needed.
• General regulatory/specification administration and support within the group, as required.
• Delegation for regulatory lead where required.

Foundational Ingredients: Requirements:

Qualifications:

• EU legal labelling qualifications or a related degree relevant to the subject (fundamental).

Experience:

• Experience: Previous experience in a Regulatory Affairs role or similar (such as specifications, artwork co-ordination or other relevant technical roles).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of legal food labelling requirements for the UK and Europe, including provision of food information to consumers.
• Understanding: Of regulations governing health and nutrition claims (EU/UK)
• Pack copy generation: Experience in product pack copy/LID creation, including technical and regulatory labelling requirements for markets in question.
• Artwork Approval: Experience in accurately approving product artwork.
• Advisory Role: Ability to challenge and advise the business on product labelling requirements.
• Communication: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Attention to Detail: Driven by robustness and accuracy of information.
• Experience: In working with 3rd parties such as Leatherhead and Campden BRI, in problem solving novel regulatory challenges (including new growth markets).

Advantageous:

• Multilingual in French or another European language would be a benefit but not critical for this role.

This position is a hybrid role, and candidates would be expected to attend the Cork office (3 days per week). Occasional international travel will be required including the U.S. and various locations throughout the UK and Europe.
