Senior IT Network Engineer – Eindhoven – ALTEN Nederland

The Position

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Network Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Eindhoven.

As a Senior IT Network Engineer, you will play a key role within an Agile Network Product Team. Working in a DevOps environment, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing network solutions.

As a Senior IT Network Engineer, your main tasks will include:

• Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN)
• Lead within the agile team and co-own the network product roadmap alongside Product Owners and Architects
• Contribute to the design and delivery of network-related epics and features within the Agile Release Train (ART)
• Review and refine high- and low-level network architectures with a focus on security, performance, and user experience
• Implement and enforce modern security frameworks (Zero-Trust, NIS2, ISO27001)
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize global network performance and availability
• Lead complex network changes, migrations, and incident resolution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into secure network solutions
• Drive automation and continuous improvement using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
• Work with tools such as Terraform, AWX Ansible, Python, and the Atlassian suite
• Act as a technical escalation point and liaise with vendors on complex issues
• Document network configurations and ensure knowledge sharing across teams

Your profile

• Completed bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT networking within enterprise environments
• Fluent in English, Dutch is preferable
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, VLANs, VPNs
• Hands-on experience with Aruba CX (switching/routing), Aruba Wireless, and Aruba ClearPass
• Experience with Check Point firewalls and F5 Application Delivery Controllers
• Familiarity with WAN technologies such as Internet, IPsec VPN, and SD-WAN
• Proven experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible (AWX), NetBox, and Python
• Strong understanding of security standards and frameworks (Zero-Trust, NIS2, ISO27001)
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and participating in agile ceremonies
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP or equivalent) are highly desirable
