Senior Technical Product Manager (permanent)
We have been exclusively engaged by a well-known corporate to hire a Senior Technical Product Manager for a core backend platform.
This is a high-impact role where you will take ownership of a core platform that multiple teams depend on for reliable data. If you thrive in complexity, enjoy creating structure where it doesn't exist yet, and like to combine technical depth with product ownership, this role is for you.
About the role
You will own a backend system responsible for processing cost and usage data. This system is not customer-facing but plays a crucial role in enabling other teams to provide accurate and consistent data, such as billing and usage information.
The current landscape includes multiple legacy solutions stacked on top of each other. You will lead the engineering team in evolving this towards a future-proof, central platform by simplifying the architecture, removing duplicated logic, and rebuilding where needed. You will work within a broader platform modernisation program, where delivery structure is in place, and full product ownership sits with you.
Your responsibilities (next to the obvious ones)
- Define, develop and drive the product vision for your domain
- Build and own the product backlog in Jira, starting almost from scratch
- Translate large volumes of unstructured wishes into actionable, prioritised items
- Establish and drive a structured refinement process with the engineering team
- Challenge assumptions, remove noise and avoid duplicated solutions
- Develop deep domain knowledge in cost calculation and usage data
- Contribute to key delivery milestones for H2 while defining those for H2+
Your profile
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager in complex technical environments
- Strong technical affinity, familiar with back-end systems where data is processed and exchanged via APIs and pipelines
- Analytical and comfortable working through large, sometimes conflicting sets of requirements and simplifying complex multiple system flows.
- Experience in billing and usage platforms is a strong advantage.
- Action-oriented and pragmatic, with a strong focus on delivery.
- Very confident stakeholder manager, able to handle complexity and push back.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong sense of ownership and the drive to make things happen
- Flexible in ways of working: Agile, Kanban, whatever gets the job done
What makes this role interesting?
You step into a team that is already building, but without product direction. The structure, the vision and the priorities, they’re yours to define. You will work on a technically complex backend platform that sits at the heart of the billing and usage infrastructure. The platform you own is the foundation that multiple downstream teams rely on to deliver accurate data to customers. Your impact is felt across the entire B2C organisation and its entire customer base.
If you are ready to take ownership in a technically complex, high-impact environment, we would love to hear from you. Please note: this is a hybrid role; remote work is not an option.
What you can expect
- Gross annual salary between €100k - €130k + bonus.
- Permanent contract in a strategic, business-critical role.
- Significant room to grow in product leadership and impact.
- Hybrid working model (2 days p/week on-site).
- Public transport subscription or mileage allowance.
