Job Title - Scrum Master (Agile Delivery)
Location - Edmonton, AB, Canada – (Remote with occasional onsite as required)

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Scrum Masters to support large-scale digital transformation and service delivery initiatives within the Government of Alberta.
In this role, you will lead agile delivery across cross-functional teams, enabling high-quality digital services through effective sprint execution, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement practices. You will play a key role in fostering agile maturity and ensuring consistent delivery outcomes across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and delivery frameworks
• Facilitate all key Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews, and backlog refinement
• Remove blockers and enable teams to meet sprint commitments and delivery goals
• Coach Product Owners and teams on estimation, planning, prioritization, and roadmap alignment
• Track and report delivery metrics using tools such as velocity charts, burndown reports, and backlogs
• Ensure transparency in communication and alignment across stakeholders
• Support user research, usability testing, and service design activities
• Act as a bridge between business and technical teams to resolve conflicts and improve collaboration
• Continuously improve Agile processes and team performance
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
• Active Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
• 13+ years of experience working in Agile environments
• 13+ years of experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and delivery processes
• 10+ years of experience coaching teams on Agile methodologies and best practices
• Strong experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple projects
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills
• Proven ability to track and report Agile delivery metrics and performance
Preferred Skills
• Experience working in public sector digital transformation initiatives
• Hands-on experience with Agile tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Exposure to human-centered design, UX/service design environments
• Experience conducting remote training/workshops (e.g., MS Teams)
• Familiarity with AI tools supporting Agile delivery or team productivity
Work Environment & Requirements
• Primarily remote role (must work from within Canada)
• Occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton, AB (at candidate’s expense)
• Standard working hours: 08:15 AM – 04:30 PM (Alberta Time)
• Must clear enhanced background check (criminal + credit check)
Deliverables & Expectations
• Drive delivery across 2–3 concurrent projects
• Maintain Agile artifacts including product backlog, sprint backlog, and reporting dashboards
• Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and quality metrics
• Enable teams to deliver iterative, high-quality digital solutions
