Director of Information Technology

We are seeking a hands-on Director of IT to lead and execute our technology strategy while actively engaging in day-to-day IT operations. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a player-coach environment -- someone who can set strategic direction while also rolling up their sleeves to drive execution across infrastructure, systems, and business applications.

The Director of IT will be responsible for aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, improving operational efficiency, strengthening cybersecurity, and enabling scalable growth. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and functional teams to modernize systems, enhance data visibility, and support a high-performing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution

• Develop and execute a practical, business-aligned IT strategy that supports organizational growth and operational efficiency
• Act as a player-coach, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in key initiatives and problem-solving
• Partner with executive leadership to identify and prioritize technology investments that drive measurable business outcomes

Hands-On IT Operations

• Maintain direct involvement in infrastructure, systems administration, and application support as needed
• Oversee and support core systems including Major ERP experience, Infor M3 or similar, AWS, WMS (Softeon or similar) and other business-critical platforms
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide guidance to the IT team on resolution strategies

Systems & Process Optimization

• Evaluate and improve current systems, workflows, and integrations to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes
• Lead system implementations, upgrades, and integrations from design through execution
• Drive standardization and scalability of IT processes across the organization

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

• Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity protocols, policies, and monitoring practices
• Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy and security standards
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks across systems and infrastructure

Data & Analytics Enablement

• Improve data integrity, reporting capabilities, and accessibility across the organization
• Partner with leadership to build dashboards and insights that support data-driven decision-making

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a lean, high-performing IT team
• Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement
• Assess team structure and capabilities to support future growth

Vendor & Budget Management

• Manage relationships with external vendors, MSPs, and technology partners
• Oversee IT budget, ensuring cost-effective investments and ROI on technology spend

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership roles
• Proven experience as a hands-on IT leader in a mid-sized multi-national organization (manufacturing, distribution, or similar environment preferred)
• Experience in a regulated, lot controlled, DSCSA environment helpful.
• Strong technical background in infrastructure, systems, and enterprise applications
• Demonstrated ability to execute, not just strategize -- comfortable working in the details when needed (remove)
• Experience with ERP systems and cross-functional business systems integration
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Microsoft, Asure AD, Cisco Meraki experience

Travel

• Willingness to travel as needed to both National and International facilities on an as-needed basis - 15%
