R‑Shiny & Python Dashboard Developer (Economic & Policy Analytics)
About the Role
We are looking for a high-quality R‑Shiny and Python Dashboard Developer to work closely with economists and policy specialists on economic, fiscal, demographic, and sectoral analytics. The role involves translating complex analytical outputs into intuitive, decision‑oriented dashboards for internal leadership and external stakeholders, including government agencies and multilateral institutions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data science, economics, and policy communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using R‑Shiny and Python (Dash / Streamlit / Plotly).
- Work closely with economists to convert economic models, forecasts, and indicators into clear, user‑friendly visualizations.
- Develop dashboards for:
- Macroeconomic and fiscal indicators
- State and district‑level analytics
- Demographic and social sector data
- Infrastructure, urban, and sectoral performance metrics
- Handle data cleaning, transformation, and validation using R and Python.
- Integrate multiple data sources (CSV, Excel, databases, APIs where required).
- Apply best practices in data visualization to ensure clarity, comparability, and policy relevance.
- Support deployment, documentation, and handover of dashboards for internal and client use.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with R‑Shiny (UI/server logic, reactivity, modularization).
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and dashboards (pandas, numpy, plotly, dash or streamlit).
- Solid understanding of data visualization principles and storytelling with data.
- Experience working with large, structured datasets, preferably economic, administrative, or survey data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with economists, policy analysts, and domain experts.
- Good coding practices, documentation, and version control (Git preferred).
