The team you will be a part of

The User Experience team designs, develops, documents, debugs, and supports creation of user interaction design concepts and visual design solutions. Incorporates emerging user interaction multi-sensory technologies (electronic displays, sound, voice, tactile feedback, etc.) to create the best possible user experience.

This Role In Summary

As a UX Designer, you'll play a key role in shaping the user experience for our products. You'll be responsible for conducting research, designing data-driven experiences, and advocating for user-centered design throughout various cross-functional projects.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Design innovative user experiences: Create compelling and intuitive user interfaces for Whirlpool's connected home appliances and services across mobile and product platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with visual designers, motion designers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand user needs and co-create innovative solutions.
• Communicate design effectively: Clearly communicate design decisions and rationale through wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Champion user-centered design: Advocate for user needs throughout the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring user research insights are integrated into all aspects of the design process.
• Conduct and participate in user research: Participate in and contribute to user research activities, including user interviews, usability testing, and ethnographic studies.
• Contribute to and maintain design systems: Contribute to the development and maintenance of consistent and scalable design systems across Whirlpool's various brands.
• Explore and leverage emerging technologies: Stay abreast of emerging technologies in the IoT space, such as voice UIs, AI, and the Internet of Things, and identify opportunities to leverage them to create innovative user experiences.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
  
  

2+ years of professional experience in a design role

Preferred Skills And Experiences

• Strong knowledge of UX/UI fundamentals, usability, and accessibility principles.
• Proficiency with Figma and familiarity with design systems.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Ability to tackle problems methodically and deliver thoughtful solutions.
