Senior Backend Engineer (GCP | APIs | Event-Driven)

Melbourne (flexible hybrid)

6-month contract

Really interesting opportunity to get in early on a new loyalty platform being built on GCP. You’ll be working across two integration API squads, helping deliver features while also shaping production readiness, security hardening, and deployment practices as the platform gears up for its first internal release.

This isn’t just feature work — you’ll have real influence across design, infrastructure (IaC), backend development, and release processes, in a team that’s still defining how things are done.

Strong focus on:

👉 API & backend engineering

👉 Cloud (GCP) & infrastructure as code

👉 Production readiness & security

👉 Event-driven / integration-heavy environments

Initial 6-month contract, with strong potential to extend as the platform scales.
