ACENSI BELGIUM is looking for his client a DevOps & Cloud Architect (F/M/X)

Context

The client is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud & DevOps Architect to design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions based on Microsoft Azure within a public sector environment. The role is part of an existing team and involves close collaboration with project managers, developers, data engineers, and infrastructure teams to ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions.

Objective

The objective of this role is to design and govern Azure cloud architectures, implement DevOps practices, and ensure that cloud solutions meet security, scalability, and compliance requirements. The consultant will also contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement of cloud environments.

Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Design

• Design, develop, and implement cloud solutions using Azure services.

• Provide guidance on cloud-native and event-driven architectures.

• Define and implement Azure Landing Zones following best practices.

• Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of cloud environments.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

• Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.

• Automate deployment and configuration processes using:

o PowerShell.

o Azure CLI.

o Azure Automation.

• Standardize infrastructure provisioning and management processes.

DevOps & Delivery

• Implement and manage Azure DevOps pipelines and release processes.

• Support Agile teams in delivering cloud-based applications and services.

• Optimize CI/CD processes for performance and reliability.

Security, Governance & Compliance

• Implement security best practices and compliance frameworks within Azure environments.

• Define and enforce governance policies using Azure Policy.

• Ensure compliance with public sector standards (NIS2, ISO 27001, Cyber Fundamentals).

• Manage identity, access, and data protection mechanisms.

Integration & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Design and implement integration architectures (APIs, messaging, event-driven systems).

• Ensure connectivity between cloud environments and on-premises data centers.

• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on hybrid architecture design.

Data & Platform Collaboration

• Work with data teams on Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks).

• Support the design and management of data-driven cloud architectures.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and runbooks.

• Stay updated on Azure services and innovations, providing recommendations to the team.

• Mentor and support junior engineers on Azure, Terraform, and DevOps practices.

Governance & Architecture Committees

• Participate in architecture, security, and DevOps governance boards.

• Contribute to defining technical standards and strategic directions.

Profile

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT and software development.

• Minimum 10 years of experience with Azure cloud solutions.

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD, pipelines).

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Kubernetes and container ecosystems (Docker, Helm, Flux, Kustomize).

• Proven experience with Azure Landing Zones architecture and implementation.
