Java Software Engineer

Position: Java Engineer / Lead

Position Type: Contract (Hybrid)

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Spring Boot, microservices architecture, messaging systems, and cloud-native deployments, along with exposure to telecom protocols and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and manage microservices-based architectures with RESTful APIs
• Develop and integrate messaging solutions using Kafka and Apache Artemis
• Work on telephony signaling (SIP) based integrations (preferred)
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS – EKS, EC2, RDS)
• Containerize applications and orchestrate using Kubernetes / Rancher
• Collaborate with frontend teams (React, mobile apps) for seamless integration
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and manage artifacts via JFrog
• Conduct API testing and security validation using Postman and ZAP
• Ensure system reliability using monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, OTEL)
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
• Work with web servers like NGINX and Apache for deployment and routing

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with JBoss / WildFly application servers
• Solid understanding of microservices and REST APIs
• Experience with MySQL or relational databases
• Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka / Apache Artemis)
• Experience with Linux environments
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Experience with API tools (Postman) and security scanning (ZAP)
