Role Description

We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer Intern to join Operater for a 2-month internship.

The Full-Stack Developer Intern will assist in designing, developing, and implementing a sophisticated web application from the ground up. You will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from creating frontend components to building robust, scalable backend services.

This internship is designed with a clear path to a full-time Junior Full-Stack Developer role for high performers.This is a key role where you'll have the opportunity to work with a modern tech stack and make a significant impact on our product.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop feature-rich user interfaces for voice and video chat and an AI agent, based on Figma designs.
• Build, test, and deploy backend API functions for managing session availability and processing user requests.
• Implement robust error handling to manage scenarios like concurrent user actions and invalid session attempts.
• Integrate user authentication to protect sensitive routes and manage user sessions.
• Ensure the application is responsive, with a focus on great UI/UX, including loading states, error states, and success confirmations.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using TypeScript and best practices.
• Optimize application performance by fine-tuning database queries and frontend rendering.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability of core user flows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Full-Stack Developer.
• Strong proficiency with Next.js, TypeScript, and tRPC.
• Hands-on experience with Prisma or Drizzle ORM.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL databases.
• Expertise in styling with TailwindCSS to create responsive and intuitive user interfaces.
• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful or tRPC APIs.
• Familiarity with modern authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• A strong eye for detail and a commitment to creating a smooth user experience.

Bonus Points

• Experience with AI/LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and handling concurrent user requests.
• Experience with MCP tools for server and client development.
• A portfolio including a link to your GitHub repository with clear documentation.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.
