Senior Backend (SQL Server )

We are currently looking for a strong Senior Database-Focused Backend Developer with extensive expertise in Microsoft SQL Server to join our client’s engineering team. The role focuses heavily on backend data processing, database performance optimization, and development of complex data-driven systems.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working with large-scale data, building reliable backend processes, and improving the performance of complex SQL workloads.

The ideal candidate combines strong SQL Server expertise with solid .NET backend development experience and the ability to work independently with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex SQL Server solutions using T-SQL

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using C# / .NET

• Build and maintain stored procedures for large-scale data processing

• Work with long-running batch processes and large datasets

• Optimize SQL queries and improve database performance

• Implement logging, monitoring, and error handling for data processing workflows

• Manage and maintain SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduled data processes

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions

• Contribute to system design and architecture decisions in data-heavy systems

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server

• Advanced T-SQL expertise

• Experience building complex stored procedures

• Experience working with large datasets and long-running batch jobs

• SQL performance tuning and query optimization experience

• Experience with SQL Server Agent and scheduled jobs

• Strong backend development experience using C# and .NET

• Experience implementing logging and error handling in data processing pipelines

• Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar modern development environments

Business & Collaboration Skills

• Experience gathering requirements directly from stakeholders

• Ability to create Business Requirement Documents (BRD)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently in enterprise environments

• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience working with very large production databases

• Backend architecture experience

• Experience in enterprise-scale data processing systems
