Job SummaryThis is a position supporting 3 pods developing software solutions and conducting PI planning. The role is part of the Agile@Scale—NEW Practice Area within a very collaborative and positive work environment. The team consists of 6 team members per pod. The contractor will receive 1 month of shadowing as a training period. Typical day-to-day involvement includes 3-4 hours of meetings per day on average, with both internal and external interaction. The contractor will not have access to customer data. Travel is not required.
Key ResponsibilitiesScrum Master Roles and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: Lead and guide the team through daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and time-boxed.
- Remove impediments: Proactively identify and eliminate obstacles, conflicts, and issues that hinder the team's progress, coordinating with external groups or stakeholders as needed.
- Coach and mentor: Guide the team in adopting and practicing Agile principles and Scrum values, helping them develop self-management and continuous improvement skills.
- Shield the team: Protect the team from external interference and distractions to allow them to focus on delivering value during the sprint.
- Foster collaboration: Promote effective communication and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders, ensuring a healthy and productive environment.
- Promote transparency: Encourage the team to track relevant metrics and make informed decisions to improve their processes.
- Lead PI Planning for the teams.
- Keep teams and partners on track during execution.
- Coach Agile Teams.
- Improve workflow between teams.
- Drive improvements in the teams.
- Manage alignment between the business and various partner groups.
- Post-secondary education required
- CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification required
- 0-2 years of overall experience
- Risk, impediment and dependency management
- CSM certification (any scrum master cert works)
- Program Increment planning - quarterly planning, etc.
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong facilitator (facilitating scrum ceremonies)
- Scaled Agile Practitioner certification
- Banking or financial institution experience
- Release Train Engineer experience (knowledge)
- Project Management experience
- Banking or financial institution background
- IT project experience
- Software solution/development projects
- Candidates with time off/vacations planned that exceed two weeks throughout the engagement will not be considered for this role.
