United States · Contract · Associate

Our client is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support a major Agile transformation within the Capital Markets division of a leading financial services organization. This is a unique player/coach opportunity for a seasoned Agile professional who can both lead teams through change and play a hands-on role in building and maturing Agile delivery practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of Scrum leadership, delivery oversight, stakeholder management, and change management experience, with the ability to help transition teams from traditional waterfall delivery models to Agile/SAFe ways of working. This individual will be instrumental in standing up new Scrum teams, driving Agile ceremonies, improving delivery execution, and establishing best practices that support long-term organizational agility.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
  • Support the organization’s transition from Waterfall to Agile/SAFe delivery methodologies
  • Partner closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, and delivery teams to ensure backlog readiness and alignment with business priorities
  • Help establish and scale new Scrum teams while embedding Agile best practices across the broader organization
  • Drive execution against Program Increment (PI) objectives, ensuring delivery aligns with strategic goals, roadmaps, and end-user value
  • Track and manage risks, timelines, blockers, dependencies, and delivery gaps
  • Identify and remove team impediments, escalating issues when necessary to keep delivery on track
  • Provide transparency into team performance through JIRA-based reporting, metrics, and delivery insights
  • Monitor and report on key Agile metrics, including user story completion, sprint progress, team velocity, and execution trends
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and greater delivery efficiency
  • Support collaboration with external partners, vendors, and product teams as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or Agile Coach
  • Strong experience facilitating Agile, Scrum, or rapid application development teams
  • Proven experience working in technology delivery within financial services, ideally within Capital Markets
  • Experience supporting or leading Agile transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and Agile delivery best practices
  • Experience with JIRA and Agile reporting/plugin tools
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
  • Agile Certification / Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred
