SENIOR REACT ENGINEER WITH AI

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior React Engineer with AI for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a leading on-site work marketplace seeking creative and skilled developers to join the global engineering team. The mission is to design and develop technology that improves users' lives while providing an exceptionally high level of service.

Project overview: a large-scale Frontend Modernization Project, focused on migrating and modernizing a broad set of existing UI pages and user experiences into a more modern, high-performance architecture. It is primarily a lift-and-shift modernization initiative on the existing cloud platform. You will accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and support a more efficient engineering workflow.

Requirements

4+ years of professional experience developing cloud-based front-end applications.
Strong knowledge of React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Understanding of building, maintaining, and scaling UX component libraries.
Proven experience working in microservices-based architectures.
Solid experience working in a fast-paced environment with a large number of UI screens to modernize.
Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a distributed team.
Excellent problem-solving skills, including debugging, algorithmic thinking, and architectural reasoning.
Demonstrated passion for engineering excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.
Hands-on experience with AI-enabled development tools as part of their daily workflow, such as: GitHub Copilot (preferred); Cursor; Claude Code; Other agentic or AI-assisted coding tools.
Familiarity with modern cloud application development practices.
Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently.
Detail-oriented but also capable of moving quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Modernize, migrate, and optimize existing UI pages and components to a scalable, performant architecture.
Develop high-quality, responsive, and maintainable front-end features using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Build and maintain reusable UX component libraries aligned with modern web standards and accessibility practices.
Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product teams to ensure consistency and alignment across the front-end ecosystem.
Leverage AI-powered tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to improve development velocity, code quality, and documentation.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize UI performance across a microservices-based architecture.
Proactively identify modernization opportunities and contribute to architectural improvements.
Uphold engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
