Your role
We are looking for a Statistician to join Orion Pharma’s Global Operations. In this role, you will design and carry out statistical analyses and standard reporting to support data‑driven decision‑making, operational development, and continuous improvement in pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations. The position supports ongoing development initiatives in Global Operations and offers an opportunity to work hands‑on with industrial data and analytics in cooperation with experienced experts and key stakeholders.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Operations Development within Intelligent Processes team in Global Operations. The job location is Espoo or Turku, and the role is hybrid. The position is full‑time and temporary until January 2028.

Your new team
Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.
In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.
Operational Development is a team of approximately 25 professionals responsible for project-based improvement initiatives and the development and utilization of data and artificial intelligence capabilities in a global operating environment. The goal of our work is to reduce manual work, improve operational control, and enable deeper insights to support decision-making.
The Intelligent Process area is part of the Operations Development team within Global Operations (G‑OPS) and focuses on developing data‑driven and analytics‑based ways of working to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities
As a Statistician, your main responsibilities include:
- Planning and performing statistical analyses and standard reporting to support Global Operations activities (industrial statistics)
- Producing standard reports and dashboards for operational decision‑making
- Collecting, cleaning, validating, and preparing data from agreed data sources and ensuring data quality
- Supporting development projects with descriptive and diagnostic analyses
- Working according to defined statistical, reporting, and analytics standards
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders in Production, Operations Development, and other Global Operations functions
- Continuously developing your statistical competence and understanding of business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs)

What are we looking for?
To Succeed In This Role, You Have
- A university degree in statistics, mathematics, data science or a related field
- Some prior experience or strong academic background in applied statistics or data analysis
- Ability to perform statistical analyses using common statistical or analytics tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS, or similar)
- Understanding of data handling, data quality, and basic reporting concepts
- Interest in industrial applications, manufacturing processes, or operational analytics
- Good collaboration and communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work systematically, accurately, and independently with guidance when needed
- Fluent Finnish and English skills
