About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer to join our team at HCD Consulting GmbH. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining complex network solutions tailored to our clients' needs. Your expertise will support various projects involving leading network technologies such as HPE Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, and Cisco. You will collaborate closely with sales, support, and engineering teams to deliver seamless network solutions, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualifications

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a comparable qualification in IT. Career changers are warmly welcome!
• Proficiency in routing, switching, firewalls, and WLAN planning (e.g., with Ekahau or HaminA).
• Experience in network automation and optimization using tools like Ansible, Python, or NetBox is advantageous.
• Enjoyment in direct customer contact and the ability to communicate technical topics clearly and understandably.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
• Excellent German and English language skills, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Planning, executing, and overseeing network projects with a focus on HPE Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, and Cisco solutions.
• Supporting the sales team during presales activities by advising clients on technical concepts and identifying suitable solutions.
• Independently managing projects post-sale, from configuration to final commissioning.
• Analyzing network issues, developing sustainable solutions, and working closely with manufacturers and support teams.
• Active participation in managed service operations and assisting the service desk team with complex cases.
• Utilizing automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or NetBox to optimize and streamline network management processes.
• Continuously updating technical knowledge through certifications and training, and expanding expertise in partner technologies.

Salary: 45.000 - 75.000 € per year

Requirements

• Abgeschlossenes Studium der Informatik, Nachrichtentechnik oder eine vergleichbare Ausbildung im IT-Bereich. Quereinsteiger innen sind herzlich willkommen!
• Sicher im Umgang mit Routing, Switching, Firewalls und WLAN-Planung (z. B. mit Ekahau oder Hamina).
• Erfahrung in der Automatisierung und Optimierung von Netzwerken mit Tools wie Ansible, Python oder NetBox ist ein Plus.
• Spaß am direkten Kundenkontakt und die Fähigkeit, technische Themen klar und verständlich zu vermitteln.
• Reisebereitschaft bis zu 40 %.
• Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.
