Senior Embedded Systems Engineer – Luxembourg

This position is deeply technical and hands‑on: you will architect the embedded electronics, implement the firmware, and drive the overall integration of hardware and software. You will be the key technical reference for the embedded stack, ensuring consistency, robustness, and maintainability throughout the product lifecycle.

The Role:

  • Lead the design and evolution of embedded systems for our user devices, from early concept definition to production release.
  • Create complete electronic designs, including schematic development, PCB layout reviews, and hardware validation.
  • Build and maintain firmware (C/C++) covering low‑level drivers, embedded applications, and system support code.
  • Structure and optimize real‑time embedded systems using FreeRTOS, ensuring deterministic execution and efficient task scheduling.
  • Develop architectures tailored for extremely low‑power operation and battery‑efficient performance.
  • Implement and validate communication interfaces and embedded protocols across the hardware platform.
  • Use GitLab as the central tool for version management, code review, collaboration, and release preparation.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation describing system designs, development workflows, and integration procedures.
  • Work closely with internal network and telecom specialists to guarantee smooth end‑to‑end interoperability.
  • Diagnose performance issues on both the hardware and firmware layers, proposing corrective and preventive improvements.
  • Ensure that all engineering outputs meet standards for reliability, quality, and manufacturability.

The Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any relevant technical discipline.
  • At least 2-3 years of hands‑on experience building embedded systems.
  • Excellent command of C and C++ for embedded targets, including strong object‑oriented design skills.
  • Solid practical knowledge of FreeRTOS and real‑time embedded development principles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing PCBs and performing hardware bring‑up, ideally with Altium Designer.
  • Familiarity with GitLab workflows for collaboration and version control.
  • Proven ability to design and optimize low‑power embedded platforms.
  • Strong background in developing, debugging, and maintaining drivers and low‑level firmware.
  • Ability to generate clear, precise technical documentation.
  • Genuine interest in telecommunications and satellite communication technologies.
