Role Description
As a Senior Security & Network Engineer at Datacenter Luxembourg, you will be at the forefront of designing, securing, and optimizing our network infrastructure. This role combines deep technical expertise with a strategic approach to cybersecurity, ensuring high availability, resilience, and protection against evolving threats.
You will play a key role in implementing robust security measures, troubleshooting complex network issues, and driving continuous improvements.
Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and maintain network and security infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, circuit provisioning)
- Own performance monitoring, capacity planning, and outage resolution
- Define and enforce security policies, access controls, and hardening standards
- Configure security platforms and develop tooling to automate vulnerability mitigation
- Drive controlled changes through established change management frameworks
- Maintain system patching, configuration standards, and compliance alignment
- Produce assessment reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations
- Deliver L2/L3 escalation support for network and security incidents
- Contribute to pre-sales engagements, from technical scoping to client-facing discussions
Profile & Experience
- Master's degree in IT or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years in networking and security, ideally within an ISP, MSP, or cloud provider
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, MACSEC, L2VPN, L3VPN, IPsec, OSPF, 802.1X, QoS, VLANs, MSTP, LACP, Lag/MC-Lag, VRF, EVPN-VxLAN...)
- Experience with firewalls (UTM, NGFW) ideally Fortinet or Sophos
- Security solutions: HTTP/S Inspection, Application control, WAF, IDS/IPS, Web protection, EDR/XDR, SIEM
- Good understanding of authentication services (AD, ADFS, LDAPS, RADIUS, MFA)
- Experience with virtualization and cloud environments
- Knowledge of SD-WAN and SASE frameworks is a plus
- Experience working in production environments with availability constraints
- Certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.) are a plus.
