C/C++ Radar Software Engineer – Apeldoorn – ALTEN Nederland

The Position

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a talented C/C++ Radar Software Engineer to join our high-tech engineering team in Apeldoorn.

As a C/C++ Radar Software Engineer, your main tasks will include:

• Develop and maintain software for advanced radar systems within the sensor processing domain
• Design and implement real-time software components in C and C++
• Contribute to the control of radar systems, radar signal processing, and data flow management
• Develop algorithms to detect, classify, and track objects such as aircraft and drones
• Work with modular software architectures to build robust and scalable systems
• Collaborate within Agile teams to continuously improve software and development processes
• Support integration of radar software with sensor and weapon systems
• Participate in the evolution and maintenance of the software architecture and development toolchain
• Analyze complex technical challenges and deliver efficient, high-quality solutions
• Ensure reliability and performance of software used in mission-critical environments

Your profile

• This role requires Dutch security clearance due to work in the defence sector. Please note that only candidates who meet government eligibility requirements for this screening can be considered.
• Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Technical Informatics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with C and C++ programming
• Experience with real-time software development
• Affinity with complex systems and high-tech environments
• Knowledge of Java is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, result-driven, and flexible mindset
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Fluency in English and Dutch
