Data Engineer

Our client is a privately-owned international energy company with 40,000 employees across 13 countries, offering a unique chance to merge your passion for technology with impactful work on socially relevant topics.

This role is available only in Romania, involves an employment contract (CIM), and is remote.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including project managers, data specialists, and business stakeholders - to understand business needs and develop operational, data-driven solutions with global impact and scalability.
• Take ownership of the entire project lifecycle, define scope and deliverables together with the business, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Communicate findings, insights, and decisions clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative team culture and provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues.
• Contribute your ideas proactively and inspire others to explore new approaches.

Requirements:

• Extensive professional experience in data engineering roles, complemented by a strong consulting background.
• Proven hands-on expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), monitoring, automation, and testing.
• Experience in containerization technologies.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies, and designing secure cloud architectures.
• Practical experience with a technology stack that includes Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Terraform, Python, and Spark.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and adapt messages effectively for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Fluent in English.
