Software Engineer III, Mobile, Android Home Screen

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 2 years of experience with software development in Java or Kotlin programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Build the Android. The System UI team is responsible for many of the core UI surfaces that form Android as we know it. This is a unique opportunity to work on things like the Home Screen, lock screen, notifications and system navigation.

Responsibilities

• Engineer core Android OS experiences and underlying systems.
• Develop highly visible features for the Android launcher using the latest Gemini.
• Collaborate with senior Android members, first-party apps, and OEM partners.
• Collaborate with others in different time-zones effectively. Ensure technical quality and performance of system components like widgets.
• Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
