We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our client's team in West Hartford, Connecticut. This role is a Long-term Contract position within the manufacturing industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the daily operations of the HR department. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and administrative functions while ensuring organizational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update employee records in both physical and digital formats, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Input and manage data across HR systems, including employee onboarding, changes in status, and terminations.
• Process, file, and track HR documentation such as attendance records, time-off requests, and disciplinary forms.
• Ensure all HR files adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
• Assist in posting job vacancies, reviewing applications, and coordinating interviews.
• Prepare paperwork for new employees and facilitate onboarding activities, including orientation sessions and verification processes.
• Distribute employee communications, policies, and notices as needed to support company initiatives.
• Support the organization and coordination of employee engagement events and training activities.
• Prepare regular reports related to HR operations and assist in audits to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Collaborate on compliance-related tasks, including personnel file audits and tracking required documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with HR systems such as Dayforce, Paycom, Workday, or BambooHR is a plus.
• Basic understanding of HR practices and employment laws, especially in manufacturing or shift-based environments.
