Network Engineer

Network Engineer - Palo Alto Expert

£550 per day | Outside IR35 | 1 day per week in London | 6 months

I'm partnering with a global technology organisation going through a major network transformation, and they need an experienced Network Engineer to support delivery across a large-scale WAN rollout.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on but also wants exposure to design, documentation, and working across a global programme.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting discovery of the existing network estate and mapping it out properly
• Assisting with design documentation (HLD/LLD) and keeping everything aligned as the programme evolves
• Helping plan and execute migrations, including runbooks, cutovers, and post-migration checks
• Coordinating closely with third parties and regional teams to drive delivery
• Getting involved in security aspects firewalls, VPNs, and policy validation
• Running and supporting testing phases (functional, failover, performance)
• Helping prepare everything for BAU handover, including monitoring and NOC documentation

What you must have

• 5+ years of solid network engineering experience
• Strong hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks
• In depth experience with Prisma Access
• Palo Alto firewall expertise, building experience
• Experience working on WAN / SD-WAN / SASE environments
• Strong working knowledge of BGP and routing concepts
• Proven experience with IPSec VPNs
• A background in network migrations or large-scale change programmes
• Comfortable working with global teams and external partners

Nice to have

• Experience on separation or divestment projects
• Exposure to regulated environments or compliance frameworks (ISO, PCI, etc.)
