Product Developer Jewellery

The Product Developer Jewellery is responsible for the development and planning of products throughout their lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product requirements, working closely with Design, Sales and Marketing teams and ensuring revenue and customer satisfaction.

The role will also ensure that the product supports the business' overall strategy and goals.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Research, develop and launch new products for the brand to meet customer needs
• Source raw materials as needed for designers and factories
• Monitor constantly and negotiate costs with factories to meet targets and margin goals
• Oversee and manage product process according to the business goals and objectives
  
  

ACTIVITIES

Product Development and Sourcing

• Work with designers to provide technical drawings to factories within a defined calendar
• Suppliers, materials (chains, stones, electroplating, metals etc.) and production processes of jewellery knowledge and research
• Maintain a clear calendar to ensure that all sample deadlines are met
• Ensure that all samples are shipped and received on time
• Costs sharing and negotiation to finalize project and margin on time
• Assist in the sourcing of new factories as needed
• Assist the checking of the execution of the samples, from the initial designs to the final samples
• Manage the samples archive
• Management and tracking of outgoing and incoming samples for MKT activities, e-commerce shooting and sales team needs
• Check product images to assure quality/design consistency vs final production, and presence on corporate systems
  
  

Database and Style Creation

• Assist during the creation of the specification sheets, style codes and product descriptions for all new products
• Provide SKU analysis as needed
• Manage costs and styles
• Manual updating of materials, quality, specifications, % composition; weight prior verification
  
  

Vendor Monitoring

• Communicate daily with factories for the samples progress and resolve product development issues
• Support the quality control and approval of samples
• Maintain vendor relationships and ensure financial and production goals
• Rapid solutions for rapid prototyping
• Coordination with suppliers on test reports on items in the collection (knowledge of the main regulations e.g. REACH Regulation (EC) No.1907/2006; List of Restricted Substances and Materials etc.); GPSR, ESPR; DPP
  
  

Interacting with other Guess departments

• Work closely with the purchasing department to guarantee the proper execution of the produced collection
• Interact with colleagues of other functions/business units in order to create synergies and to avoid overlapping actions
• Interact with the legal department for counterfeit Jewellery products
  
  

Requirements

• Experience: years 3-5 of experience in a similar role in Jewellery field
• Education: University Degree
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory. Any other European language is considered as a plus
• PC Skills: expert in Excel, strong experience in using planning and analytical systems, AS400 (Stealth)
• Proactively works toward set goals and has a problem solving mind-set
• Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines
• Team player, dynamic personality, fast thinker, positive attitude and sense of urgency
• Open-minded and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group at all levels
• Availability to travel - including intercontinentally
