Senior Cyber Security Strategist

Profectus is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Strategist to support a large, operationally critical organisation within the utilities sector. This is opportunity based in Canberra, working across complex enterprise IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments. This role will provide specialist capability to develop, refine and socialise a multi-year cyber security strategy and roadmap, and to build investment-ready business cases that enable executive and Board decision-making.

About the Role

Key responsibilities are expected to include:

• Contributing to the development and refinement of an enterprise-wide cyber security strategy across IT and OT environments
• Producing a prioritised, costed, multi-year cyber security roadmap, including sequencing, interdependencies and delivery governance considerations
• Developing investment-ready business cases for priority initiatives, including options analysis, benefits realisation, cost modelling (CapEx/OpEx), risk assessment and delivery approach
• Facilitating workshops and collaborating with IT, OT, Program and Project Management, Finance, Privacy and Legal stakeholders
• Providing subject matter expertise on Microsoft security technologies, SOE uplift initiatives, MFA and identity and access management (IAM), and network security controls
• Working with architecture and operational teams to prototype solutions and provide technical leadership and implementation oversight
• Presenting strategy, roadmap and investment recommendations to senior executives and governance boards

We are keen to hear from professionals who:

• Demonstrate proven experience developing enterprise cyber security strategies
• Have delivered prioritised, costed roadmaps within complex environments
• Have strong experience building detailed business cases suitable for executive or Board approval
• Possess excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Have experience working within critical infrastructure, utilities, energy, water, or other OT-heavy environments
• Can build robust investment models across both capital and operational expenditure
• Have experience operating across enterprise IT and Operational Technology domains
• Hold strong knowledge of: Microsoft security ecosystem; Standard Operating Environment (SOE) uplift; MFA and Identity & Access Management (IAM); Network security (segmentation, gateways, monitoring).
