We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer for an important U.S.-based client.

Project: Acceleration of platform alignment and deployment repeatability to support large, complex customer engagements and regulated environments, with an emphasis on improving release velocity, architectural consistency, and time-to-market.

What You’ll Do

• Build and enhance Java microservices running on Kubernetes (EKS strongly preferred)
• Implement APIs and service workflows with production-grade quality (tests, telemetry, docs)
• Help scale services (autoscaling, performance tuning, resilience patterns, safe rollouts)
• Integrate with AWS services (commonly DynamoDB, S3, ELB/ALB/NLB, Route 53, KMS)
• Improve reliability and operability: logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerts, runbooks
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with staff engineers on designs and implementation details
  
  

Must-haves

• Senior-level Java engineering experience building/operating production services
• 6 to 8+ years' experience
• Quarkus or Helidon experience (strong preference)
• Strong Kubernetes experience (deployments, debugging, resource tuning); EKS experience is a big plus
• Hands-on experience with microservices patterns: retries/timeouts, idempotency, async workflows, backward-compatible APIs
• Strong communication and ability to deliver independently with minimal ramp time
  
  

Nice To Have (strongly Preferred)

• AWS expertise: DynamoDB, S3, ELB/ALB, Route 53, KMS (plus IAM/VPC fundamentals)
• Experience designing for auto-scaling (HPA/KEDA, queue/event-driven scale patterns)
• Observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, Coralogix, ELK, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release strategies (blue/green, canary, feature flags)

• Ship production changes within the first 1–2 weeks (after access + brief onboarding)
• Deliver services/features with tests + instrumentation + deployment artifacts
• Reduce incidents/toil and improve SLO posture via operational improvements
